In a Royal Decree signed on 11 April 2023, King Norodom Sihamoni ordered the Governor of Banteay Meanchey, Oum Rath, the Governor of Preah Sihanouk, Kouch Chamroeun, and the Governor of Kampong Cham, Un Chanda, to continue doing their work in their respective provinces for another term.

The Law on the Administration of the Capital, Provinces, Municipalities and Districts stipulates that the term of office for a Governor or Deputy Governor shall not exceed four years.
